Screw Machining Services

At Mid-West Screw Products, our roots in screw machining date back to the founding of our company in 1946. Since then, our shop has continued to develop, as it always has through the years, into a modern facility housing CNC controlled equipment with an expansive array of tooling options, precise servo motion, and high-speed capability. In addition to accelerated setup, our single spindle and multi-spindle machines offer lightening-fast cycle times. Outfitted with auto loading and part discharge systems, this equipment can operate unattended for extended periods of time and the low labor costs make screw machining very cost effective. Our success has been driven into the future, by mixing the older machines, while at the same time, having the most modern technologies available in our plant. This gives us cost saving options to offer our customers that fit their parts and products.

With our equipment assets, we produce parts with complex geometries while upholding manufacturing tolerances as close as ±.0005″. We machine parts with dimensions of up to 2-5/8″ in diameter and attain a high degree of accuracy and part-to-part repeatability. Whether you need parts produced from a standard metal, super alloy, or a polymer, we can accommodate your request.

If you take a walk through our Screw Machining Department, you will see many pieces of traditional, cam-operated equipment. While many machine shops consider this technology obsolete, we understand its relevance to 21st-century manufacturing. With multi-spindle capabilities, these machines perform several operations simultaneously and produce parts at a very swift pace. Cam-operated machines have very low overhead, but they do not take much longer to set up, so they are most cost-effective to use for orders of 5,000 parts or more. If your project requirements align with the capabilities of this equipment, leveraging this older, but highly relevant, technology can result in a significant cost saving.

Whether we tap into modern or traditional screw machining technology, we make quality our top priority. Along with ISO 2001:2015 certification, we are also certified in ARM 9009:2013, Aero Space AS9100 and Medical. Our quality program complies with many demanding industry standards, and we are continually generating new ideas to improve our services. Contact us today to learn more about our screw machining capabilities or any of our other production services via our Multiple Spindle, CNC turning, as well as, CNC milling departments.
